Visit the Dandenong Ranges its 10 deg cooler

This heat is pretty oppressive in Melbourne with all the concrete and bitumen,. but it is cooler in the mountains, with the streams, tall trees and fresh air.  We are only 50 mins from the Melbourne CBD and there are so many beautiful places to visit.  Check out the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges information on our website under Local Attractions.  You can see just how beautiful it is here.  Most wineries have air conditioning, we have the Olinda Creek in Mt. Evelyn with childrens play area and plenty of shade.  Lilydale Lake has a beach for sun baking and the children can observe the bird nesting area

The Blue Lotus Farm in Yarra Junction is now open for just a short time from Boxing Day 26 December to March 31st.  This is such a special place and will take your breath away with its amazing waterlillies and Monet bridges.  There is also a cafe overlooking one of the many lakes and gift shop selling ladies fashion plus many lovely topical gifts featuring water lillies.

We are happy to offer advice to anyone needing more information.

About yarra

I run a self contained holiday accommodation set in the beautiful region of Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges, Victoria, Australia. The Yarra Valley is famous for its fabulous wines and Moet and Chandon has a subsidiary called Domain Chandon where they make a great sparking wine by method champenoise. A must try. The Dandenong Ranges are host to the most beautiful lush forests offering many beautiful walks. There are a number of villages with a variety of shops, cafes and restaurnts. The popular steam train Puffing Billy runs through these hills. Dutch settlers have successfully grown tulips in this region for decades and Tesselaar Tulip Festival attracts visitors from all over the world. Our apartment offers guests a cosy and modern home away from home base which accommodates 4 people.

  1. Hi there,
It really isn’t that difficult. I just take photos of our region to promote it and then write about the picture. I am really happy to answer any questions our readers may have on the region, as it is really beautiful and has so much to offer. The web designers included a blog facility so I can keep the website up to date. Its great you like it. I guess the difference we have is that we don’t have lots of advertising. Cheers
